winter weddings

I'm not so much of a winter person... I tend to feel the cold more than most and the idea of getting married outside on a cold, winters day isn't something I would normally think was a good idea.

But... that all went out the window when a winter date was selected for my own wedding. It seemed to make sense too, as the end of August means you almost get spring weather anyway... along with the fact that August is one of the driest months in Sydney (so that suited an outdoor wedding ceremony perfectly)!

It seems that more and more couples these days are actually picking winter dates too! Which I now LOVE!

Not only is the weather proving to be SPECTACULAR, but a few extra clothing layers (and some sunshine) are all you need...

clint & amelia | engaged

I'm not normally a great morning person, but I'm so glad these two were the reason I got out of bed to watch a glorious sunrise over Manly beach!

These two are getting married at the end of this year and after getting to know them better this morning, I feel like I've made two new friends! It's yet another reason why I love doing what I do...

charlie & rebecca

Torrential rain on the morning of your wedding is enough to make any bride freak out completely - but not Rebecca! She was so cool, calm and collected all throughout the morning getting ready at her parents house in Northwood, Sydney.

It was still sprinkling when she left to head to the church for the ceremony, but had completely stopped by her arrival at Monties in North Sydney. Amazing! Even the sun made an appearance on their exit from the church afterwards and all their guests were able to mingle and congratulate the couple outside.

The clear skies didn't last long though, and by the time we had arrived at Dawes Point for bridal portraits we had to work fast before the rain set in again.

A warm, fun and celebratory reception kicked off earlier (due to the rain) than expected at Wharf Restaurant soon after and the newlyweds celebrated into the night.
